Israeli-based ZenithSolar has introduced their new solar powered generator which has broken all kinds of records. Its new Solar Z20, a third-generation CHP solar generator that combines heat and power systems, has achieved an amazing 72% solar conversion efficiency.

Upgraded from an earlier 2nd generation system that only provided just enough water and electricity to supply the surrounding community, the Z20 photovoltaic system will capture heat in mirror collectors and, utilizing its specially designed heat exchanger that’s attached to the PV cells, will convert it to electrical and thermal power.

The Solar Z20 will generate enough power to sell some back to the national grid

ZenithSolar boasts that its products generate 75 percent efficiency in the field. But 72 percent is miles ahead of the competition, which lays claim to at best 20 percent energy efficiency, though one company has recently seen a 40 percent energy efficiency level.

Looks like ZenithSolar has raised the bar for the industry. Wonder who’ll be the next to step up?
